Working as an Operator

Do you need a license to run a land clearing business?

There's no dedicated forestry mulching license in most states — you'll need a registered business, insurance, and possibly a local contractor registration; herbicide follow-up work typically requires a state pesticide applicator license. Requirements are state and county level, so check yours. Insurance, not licensing, is what customers and primes will actually ask for.
